I present to you another battle in the War on Christmas. If they’re all like this, I’d say we heathens are winning! I’m of course kidding, since we’re not even fighting (just laughing) but take a look at this ridiculousness:
Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee provided an opening for the latest display of Christianists’ perpetual indignation by referring to the large fir tree in the statehouse as a “holiday tree”
Uh oh, he called a *gasp* pagan symbol a holiday tree! How dare he?! Oh, how shall peaceful Christians respond?
After Chafee lit the “holiday” tree, a few dozen carolers interrupted a performance by a children’s chorus to sing “O Christmas Tree.”
…I don’t think I could have even made that up if I had wanted to. They interrupted a children’s choir in order to sing “O Christmas Tree” which, aside from having absolutely nothing to do with Christianity, is sung to the tune of “The Red Flag”, a thouroughly Communist anthem.
Republican Jesus is sheddding tears of pride right now, let me tell you.
