I keep seeing variations of a certain response to a Herman Cain quote floating through my Twitter timeline. I’m hesitant to repost it because I think it’s asinine, but I need to illustrate why so I guess I will. It goes something like this:
“Herman Cain says homosexuality is a choice. In return, I respect his choice to be black.”
You guys, that isn’t funny. I see the point you’re trying to make (being gay is as much a choice as being black), but this is Koch-funded “Uncle Tom” Herman Cain we’re talking about here. Let’s look at some of his other quotes:
*”African-Americans have been brainwashed into not being open-minded, not even considering a conservative point of view.”
*”I don’t believe racism in this country today holds anybody back in a big way.”
*”…I won’t stay on the Democratic plantation like I’m supposed to.”
*”It may shock you, but some black people can think for themselves.”
*[Responding to a question about whether blacks have a level playing field in today’s job market despite having a far higher unemployment rate than whites] “Many of them do have a level playing field, I absolutely believe that.”
This is the same shit apologists have been chanting for years. So you see? Of COURSE Herman Cain thinks being gay is a choice because he thinks being black is a choice! And he is choosing to be white! I mean, that IS what the Koch brothers are paying him for.
The only other explanation that’s even possible is he’s a racist white guy suffering from re-vitiligo.
